- Widowed Hens / Racing Hens:
Figure 1 and 2 (top row) - This box includes a food and a water dish. As a result, this cell is superbly suited for resident and racing hens. The advantage of the darkened box front compared to box fronts with bars is that the pigeons sit far more quietly and, therefore, the birds do not always want to get out and rumple their feathers. The box in Figure 3 and 4 (bottom row) may also be used for racing hens. The pigeons can sit in front of the bars or be locked up behind them. There is no water supply for young birds in this design.
- Young birds / individual birds / widowers:
Figure 3 and 4 (bottom row) - In these boxes the pigeons can sit in front of the bars or, if the slider is open, behind the darkened bars. There is also the option of placing a nest bowl into the cell. Therefore, it is suited for both young birds and for widowhood. The Drapa lofting partnership has used the 43.2 cm (17.25 in) size box with great success. The front bars and feed dish are protected as a utility model. Also a box for racing hens with a self-trapping system. The pigeons are fed in the box. The water dish can be attached to the bars from the outside. When the female comes into the box to eat, she passes by the trapping device and locks herself in. For racing hens the box front is darkened. The advantage is that the pigeons sit more quietly in their box. A water and a feed dish may also be attached in this box. The slider runs behind the bars so dishes do not need to be removed when opening the box. The box in Fig. 5 and 6 is only available in box size 43.2 cm (17.25 in).
Result: These cells are tried and proven by top domestic and foreign breeders, including such top German lofts as, for example, the lofting partnership of Andreas and Walter Drapa, the Sandeck Bros. and G�nther Nie�.
