ENGLISH : Appertex
Product presentation:
For the treatment and control of coccidiosis in racing and show pigeons caused by Eimeria labbeana and Eimeria columbarum. Microscopic single-cell organisms living in the intestine cause coccidosis. This infection destroys the intestinal mucous membrane. Intestinal lesions, as found in chickens, have not been observed in pigeons. Pigeons that were not infected, however, or only marginally infected, have a superior flight performance. Appertex can safely be administered to pigeons during the breeding season. It has no adverse effects on the condition of the nestlings.

Clazuril and diclazuril are anticoccidials of the benzeneacetonitrile group. Dependent on the coccidia species they have a coccidiocidal effect on the asexual or sexual stages of the development cycle of the parasite. Treatment with diclazuril causes interruption of the coccidial cycle and eliminates excretion of oocysts.
